Happy Halloween!

We took Lucas for the Halloween party at Patrick's work. The party was great and Lucas had lots of fun! Of course he was very happy eating all the candies that he is not allowed to have during the normal days of the year. Gabriel stayed at home sleeping.

Levamos o Lucas para a festinha de Halloween que teve no trabalho do Patrick. A festa foi muito legal e Lucas se divertiu horrores. É claro que ele estava eufórico comendo todas as porcarias que normalmente não deixamos ele comer. Gabriel ficou em casa dormindo.

Weekend in Rio to celebrate Lucas' B-Day

We went to RJ this weekend to celebrate Lucas' b-day (and mine, actually - it was on Oct.11). We hired a catering company to come cook a traditional brazilian barbecue (and caipirinhas) for us, our family, and friends. It was very yummy! As last time, we barely took pictures. The few ones that have been taken had poor image quality. This is the only one that was nice.

Fomos ao Rio este fim de semana para comemorar o aniversário do Lucas (e o meu, que foi dia 11 de outubro). Nós celebramos na casa da vovó Elisa. Contratamos uma empresa para fazer um churrasco para nossa família e amigos. Estava uma delícia. O chato foi que quase não tiramos fotos e as poucas que foram tiradas não ficaram com a qualidade muito boa. Essa é a única que ficou legal.

Happy Birthday Lucas!!

Today is Lucas' birthday! He is turning 3! He celebrated his b-day at school with his friends. They had cake, popcorn, hotdog, sandwiches, juice...they ate a bunch and had lots of fun! Lucas is now understanding what a birthday celebration is. He is also singing the happy birthday to you song pretty well (in portuguese).

Hoje é aniversário do Lucas! Ele está fazendo 3 aninhos! Ele comemorou o aniversário dele com os amiguinhos na escola. Eles comeram bolo, cachorro-quente, pipoca, sanduíches, suco...eles comeram à beça e se divertiram demais! Lucas agora está entendendo o que uma festinha de aniversário é. Ele também está cantando o Parabéns para você direitinho em português.

Dia das Crianças

In Brazil we celebrate on October 12 the children's day. We got them presents for that. Lucas, of course, loved Gabriel's present - something like a tent. After a while, they managed to be both inside the cabana.

Hoje é dia das crianças, cada um dos meninos ganhou o seu presente. É lógico que o Lucas queria o presente do Gabriel - tipo uma cabaninha. No fim das contas, até que eles acabaram se entendendo.

Casamento do Beto e da Clara

Patrick went to Rio this weekend for Beto and Clara's wedding. After the episode that happened a couple of weeks ago, it was still too early for me to go there with the kids. I know our friends will apologize us for not being part of such an important event in their lives. The ceremony was held is Niteroi, where Clara used to live. After the wedding, they will head to Spain, where they will be living for a few years (or, for many years - who knows?!?). We are very happy for you!

Patrick foi ao Rio este fim de semana para o casamento da Clara e do Beto. Depois do que aconteceu, ainda está muito cedo para eu pegar a estrada novamente com as crianças. Eu sei que nossos amigos vão entender por não estarmos presente numa data tão imporatnte na vida deles. A cerimônia foi em Niteroi, onde a Clara morava. Eles estão indo morar na Espanha por alguns anos (ou, quem sabe, por muitos - ninguém sabe!). Estamos muito felizes por vocês! Muitas felicidades!!
