There was no way to be inside the house with Lucas in a beautiful winter day like this one. It was chilly, but the sun made it really nice out.

Viagem ao Brasil

We were thinking about going to Brazil during the Holidays. However, due to the pregnancy, we had to go earlier than that. We ended up going to RJ in November for 2 weeks. It was great, too short though. It was very hard for Lucas, at the beginning, to adjust to the new routine. It was good though that he was feeling very comfortable and happy with the grandparents. We miss you all already! Can't wait for the next trip there!

Estavamos planejando passar Natal e Reveillon no Brasil. No entanto, por causa da gravidez, tivemos que antecipar nosso planos. Fomos para o RJ em Novembro por 2 semanas. Foi muito bom, apesar de ter passado muito rapido! A mudanca de rotina foi bem dificil para o Lucas no comeco. O bom foi que ele nao estranhou ninguem da familia e, mais importante, estava muito confortavel e feliz na presenca dos avos. Ja' estamos com saudades e ansiosos pela nossa proxima ida ao Brasil.

Bye Bye Virna

On Nov 11th we organized a brunch for Virna at Luciana's house. Virna and her family are going back to Brazil. We had a very nice time at Lu's house.  We were so busy eating and talking though that the only picture we took from the event is a photo of the two Lucas eating!

No dia 11 de novembro fizemos um brunch na casa da Lu para nos despedirmos da Virna que esta' voltando para o Brasil. Foi uma manha muito agradavel. Estavamos tao ocupados comendo e conversando que a unica foto que temos deste evento e' dos dois Lucas comendo tb!

Feliz Aniversario Lucas!!!

Este ano Lucas teve comemoracao dupla do seu aniversario! Comemoramos levando um bolinho para a escolinha no dia 22 (apesar do aniversario dele ser no dia 24) e fazendo um picnic com os amigos no Shoreline Park, em Mountain View. Os dois eventos foram otimos! Bem, na escola foi meio complicado porque, como fomos la' durante o dia, quando tivemos que ir embora o Lucas nao gostou nada. Ele tambem nao entendeu o que estavamos fazendo la' no meio do dia. O coitadinho ficou todo confuso! O picnic foi muito gostoso. O dia estava lindo e quente! Acho que aproveitamos um dos ultimos dias agradaveis deste ano...agora o frio esta' realmente dando sinal de vida. As criancas curtiram a beca, correndo de um lado para o outro o tempo todo. O Lucas, no entanto, so' queria saber do carrinho do Felipe. Nao queria sair do carrinho de jeito nenhum. TInhamos que ir busca-lo toda hora antes que ele fosse muito longe. O Lucas ganhou um monte de presente dos amiguinhos. Quando chegamos em casa, e ele entao percebeu que havia um saco com presentes, ele ficou atordoado sem saber o que fazer. Tivemos que esconder alguns presentes e dar para ele aos poucos porque ele nao estava nem conseguindo assimilar tudo que estava acontecendo...foi engracado.

Lucas had double B-Day celebration this year. We celebrated by taking a banana bread to his preschool on the 22nd (his B-Day is on the 24th though) and by having a picnic with friends at the Shoreline Park, in Mountain View. Both events were great! Actually, the celebration at his school was a bit complicated because, since we went there in the middle of the day, Lucas did not like at all when it was time for us to leave. Besides, he couldn't understand what we were doing there during the day. Poor kid...he got confused. We really enjoyed the picnic. The day was beautiful and it was warm! I believe we were able to enjoy one of the last nice days we'll have this year...the cold is finally, and unfortunatelly, hitting. The kids had lots of fun. Lucas, however, only wanted to play with Felipe's "bike". We had to chase him all the time to make sure he was not going too far. Lucas got a lot of presents. When we got home and Lucas realized all the presents he had, he was overwhelmed and didn't know what to do. We had to hide a few toys and give him one at a time since he couldn't digest everything that was happening...it was funny.

Na escola do Lucas as professoras tem tentado tirar fotos das criancas no dia-a-dia na escolinha para depois mandar para os pais. Recebemos nossa 1a leva de fotos e adoramos! Esperamos que voces gostem tambem.

At Lucas' preschool the teachers have been taking pictures of the kids at their daily activities at the school. Then, they send them to the parents. We received the 1st batch they took from Lucas and we loved them! We hope you enjoy them too!

In July we had lots of visitors! My parents, Luisa, and Marcelo came to visit. It was great! Well, it was kind of busy too...during the time they were here we moved into our new house and I found out I was pregnant! Lots of things happening! My dad took hundreds of pictures, of course. We have some of them at the album below to share with you.

Nos tivemos um monte de visitas em julho: meus pais, Luisa, e Marcelo. Foi otimo! Foi meio complicado tb...durante o tempo que eles estiveram por aqui nos mudamos para a nossa casa nova e eu descobri que estava gravida. Varias coisas acontecendo ao mesmo tempo! Meu pai tirou um monte de fotos, e' logico! Nos colocamos algumas que eles nos mandaram no album abaixo para vcs verem.

At the Woods Open House

Lucas comecou na sua escolinha nova, que se chama "At the Woods". Antes da escolinha abrir, foi organizado um evento para que as criancas e os pais conhecessem as professoras e as outras criancas e seus pais. Lucas nao parou um minuto, brincou o tempo todo e nao queria ir embora. Bom sinal... :)

Lucas is now at a preschool, called "At the Woods". Before it opened, there was an open house so the kids and their parents could meet the teachers and the other kids and their parents. Lucas played all the time and did not want to leave. That's a good sign...

Bem, digamos que esta' ficando cada vez mais dificil levar o Lucas para passear no carrinho. E logico, ele nao quer mais ficar dentro do carrinho. Tambem, depois de ter descoberto que ele pode correr sozinho, porque ficar preso dentro de um carrinho? Lucas gosta mesmo e' de empurrar, escalar, ou subir nas rodas do carrinho!

OK, let's say it's getting harder and harder to take Lucas for a ride in his stroller. Of course, he doesn't want to be in it anymore. Well, after finding out that he can run on his own, why ride in the stroller? Lucas prefers to push the stroller or climb its wheels.

We are back!!! Estamos de volta!!

Hi everyone! First of all, I am sorry for not posting anything for so long...life has been really crazy lately! We got a new house, Lucas is transitioning to a new day care, there is another baby on the way...so much happening at the same time!!! OK, since there is a lot to catch up, let's go back a few months ago...I realized that there are no pictures here from when Lucas' godmother, Caroline, came to visit us, and from Lucas' godfather, Marcelo, who we went to visit in Seattle. So, let's start with these albums. Enjoy!

Ola' pessoal! Antes de mais nada, mil desculpas por nao ter colocado nada novo no blog em tanto tempo...temos estados super ocupados ultimamente! Compramos uma casa, Lucas esta' mudando de creche, temos um bebe a caminho...muitas coisas acontecendo ao mesmo tempo! Bem, vamos voltar alguns meses....Nos demos conta que nao colocamos aqui as fotos de quando a Caroline, madrinha do Lucas, veio nos visitar e de qdo fomos visitar o Marcelo, padrinho do Lucas. Whistler trip (Feb-07)

REI

Ontem fomos fazer compras na REI (uma loja de esportes). A loja parecia um parque de diversoes, com criancas correndo de um lado para o outro e fazendo a maior bagunca. Lucas, e' logico, nao ia ser diferente. Ele nao parou um minuto, mexeu em tudo que podia e nao podia. Tadinho, ele queria brincar com as outras crincas, mas como ele era bem mais novo que os outros, ninguem deu muita trela para ele. Como eu estava com a maquina pude registrar algumas de suas peripecias...o duro foi ter que, alem de correr atras dele, arrumar cada bagunca que ele fazia!

We went to shop at REI yesterday. It looked like a big play area, with kids running everywhere. Lucas did not stop for a sec. He wanted to touch and grab everything. Poor baby, he wanted to play with the other kids, but since he was the youngest one, they kind of did not want to play with him. I was with the camera so I was able to capture some of mess he made... the hard thing was putting everything back at its right place besides having to chase him!

Brunch with Friends / Brunch com Amigos

Lucas was starving so he decided he wanted to eat outside the restaurant before our table was ready.
Lucas estava esfomiado e resolveu comer do lado de fora do restaurante enquanto aguardavamos pela nossa mesa.
